About the Artist

My name is Brandon Vukelic and I am from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I have always had a passion for art, starting with drawing as a child and later discovering my love for glass in my early twenties. Inspired by glass artists on social media, I decided to take classes and invest in the necessary equipment to explore this fascinating medium.

With my father's help, I built a kiln and began experimenting with glass. I was captivated by the vibrant colors and optical effects, especially when using precious metals like silver and gold.

In 2017, a local resident asked me to create a glass memorial for her cat, she encouraged me, saying that creating these for others will have great meaning to those who are grieving which led me to specialize in memorials. Since then, this person has become a close friend and I have dedicated myself to creating unique pieces that honor and remember loved ones, drawing inspiration from the stories and photos shared by clients.

I offer memorials in the form of pendants, marbles, and bracelets. I focus on pieces that can be worn, carried, as well as displayed. I am always open to clients' ideas on how they wish to remember their loved ones, ensuring each piece is special and meaningful.

What Creating Memorials Means to Me

Creating art that brings solace to those who have experienced loss is deeply fulfilling for me. My pieces serve as cherished talismans, allowing individuals to reflect on the lives of their loved ones, with their ashes delicately preserved within the glass.

Glass is an extraordinary medium. It transforms under heat, becoming fluid like honey or solid and clear, interacting with light, color, and perception. This constant state of transformation makes each piece unique, just like the soul that it honors. Because of the nature of glass, these memorials can be passed down for generations.

Each creation is a testament to the intricate interplay of movement, color, and form, acting as a bridge between the living and the departed. I am committed to continually perfecting my craft and expanding my techniques to represent diverse ideas—whether capturing space, the beauty of a flower, or a swirl of colors. My goal is to craft pieces that are visually stunning and provide peace and comfort, ensuring my art remains ever-evolving and deeply meaningful.
